Central Asia
International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) is currently implementing activities to assist and empower local human rights groups from Central Asia to reach out to and engage the international community in their struggle for human rights.
We work together with local groups on the preparation and distribution of publications, as well as the conduct of advocacy to raise international awareness, mobilize international support and promote international action to improve respect for in particular the rights of vulnerable groups such as civic activists, journalists and others who challenge government policies; ethnic and religious minorities; people in prison and detention; and women and children.
A recent report published by IPHR and partner organisations explores the protection of fundamental rights in Central Asia twenty years after the fall of the Soviet Union. Other publications on Central Asia, which have been issued by IPHR and its partners, can be found here.
For more information from IPHR and partners see also the new Facebook page on Promoting Fundamental Rights in Central Asia.
