Uzbekistan: A briefing note to the EU-NGO Forum on Human Rights on "Repression and Exploitation of Farmers and Rural Communities in Uzbekistan"

Brussels 12 July 2010.The Initiative Group of Independent Human Rights Defenders of Uzbekistan and the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) today presented a briefing note on "Repression and Exploitation of Farmers and Rural Communities in Uzbekistan" to the 12th EU-NGO Forum on Human Rights, which takes place in Brussels on 12-13 July 2010.  The briefing note discusses repressive and exploitative policies against farmers and rural communities in Uzbekistan, as well as violations of fundamental rights of these groups, including violations of economic and social rights and violations of civil rights and liberties. It also makes recommendations to the EU, as well as the rest of the international community for how to address the problems described in interactions with the authorities of Uzbekistan.

Брюссель 12 июля 2010 г. Инициативная Группа Независимых Правозащитников Узбекистана и Международное партнерство по правам человека (МППЧ) сегодня опубликовали сообщение <<Репрессии и эксплуатация фермеров и сельских общин в Узбекистане>> для 12ого Форума ЕС-НПО по правам человека, который проводиться в Брюсселе, 12-13 июля 2010. Это сообщение посвящено политике репрессии и эксплуатации в отношении фермеров и сельских общин в Узбекистане, а также нарушениям фундаментальных прав человека этих групп, включая нарушения экономических и социальных прав, а также гражданских прав и свобод. В него также включены рекомендации ЕС и остальным представителям мирового сообщества о том, как подойти к описанным проблемам в своем взаимодействии с властями Узбекистана.
