Donate for Ukraine: IPHR collects funds for Ukrainian activists and their families
IPHR is a non-profit organisation with offices in Brussels and Tbilisi. Established in 2008, our team works with local civil society groups in the countries of the former Soviet Union to empower and assist them in making their concerns heard at the international level.
Since 2014, IPHR’s team has provided support to Ukrainian human rights organisations seeking accountability for violations perpetrated during the Euromaidan protests, in occupied Crimea, and in eastern Ukraine. This includes investigation and documentation of war crimes and making use of various external accountability mechanisms – such as sanctions, universal jurisdiction and the International Criminal Court – to bring perpetrators to justice.
From day one of Russia’s full-fledged war on Ukraine, IPHR and its partners both within and outside of Ukraine have been collecting, analysing, and reporting on evidence of potential war crimes committed in the context of Putin’s full-scale invasion.
At the same time, we have been working on relocating our partners and their families and providing emergency support to those put at risk by Russian aggression.
Our first priority is to help safeguard the lives and wellbeing of as many of our Ukrainian partners – especially those who have decided to stay in Ukraine to continue their human rights and humanitarian work, but have been forced to leave their homes and move to the west of the country.
As the war continues to rage, our current funds to support relocation are reaching their limit, while the number of people who need support grows beyond our financial capacities.
With this in mind, we are appealing to you directly to ask for your help in securing the funds needed to help relocate human rights defenders inside Ukraine and provide items – such as personal protective equipment and medical supplies – which are vital to ensuring individuals’ safety, but which are in high demand on the ground.
IPHR is actively seeking funds from various sources to provide for emergency assistance and will continue to do so. We hope that these efforts will bear fruit, but this will take time. In the meantime, however, our partners and their fellow activists are left vulnerable and will continue to face severe challenges. With your help we can make sure that individuals in need receive vital support today.
