International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) organized an advocacy visit for Oleg Orlov and Sergei Davidis from Memorial Human Right Centre to Brussels in March 2018. During the two-day visit, Memorial HR Centre met with a number of representatives from European Union Institutions. During the meetings pressing human rights issues were discussed, including politically motivated judicial persecutions, political prisoners, and the human rights situation in Chechnya.

IPHR and Memorial HR Centre prepared a joint briefing paper providing an overview of the challenges faced by civil society, the independent media, activists, journalists and demonstrators, as well as individual citizens who simply wish to exercise their right to freedom of opinion, association, and assembly in Russia.
