Russia: Monitoring of court cases related to the “foreign agents” law

International Partnership for Human Rights is coordinating a Civil Solidarity Platform initiative to monitor trials against NGOs in cases initiated under the 2012 “foreign agents” law in Russia, as well as other legal proceedings that directly or indirectly hamper the functioning of independent civil society organizations in this country. The initiative aims to raise awareness about these proceedings and mobilize national and international support for the organizations affected by them.

A first report prepared under this initative details findings of monitoring of trials against two NGOs: the Kostroma Centre for Civic Initiatives (trials held in Kostroma on 29 July and 12 August 2013) and Transparency International Russia (trial held in Moscow on 9 August 2013). The report is available here.
