Ahead of the new round of the EU’s Human Rights Dialogue with Uzbekistan, International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) and the International Human Rights Association (IHA) Fiery Hearts have prepared a joint briefing paper highlighting the unrelenting persecution of independent civil society actors in this country. The briefing paper describes the repressive policies used against independent human rights NGOs, human rights defenders, journalists and others who criticize authorities and details recent individual cases of concern and provides recommendations to the EU for measures to request from the Uzbek authorities.
